The Authors
Jean-José Ferreira-Lopès
Originally trained in interior architecture, Jean‑José Ferreira‑Lopès discovered the world of intaglio printmaking in the 1990s, through an unexpected artistic encounter. Falling in love with engraving, he went on to teach himself classical techniques such as burin, etching, aquatint, and drypoint. Blending these methods with oil and watercolour, he has developed an intimate and poetic body of work—paintings, drawings, collages, and engravings—shown at Galerie Paul Prouté in Paris and The Old Print Shop in New York.
The Anachrone Worlds extend his artistic practice. Built from fragments of late‑19th‑century engravings, they explore an imaginative space where familiar references are deliberately blurred.

Carine Arribeux
A long‑time craftswoman of words, Carine Arribeux has spent many years shaping texts for documentary and journalistic projects. At the end of the 2010s, she discovered the alternative worlds of Jean‑José Ferreira‑Lopès. Invited to wander through his chimera‑filled horizons, she set out with the enthusiasm of a first‑time explorer to meet the surreal creatures, machines, landscapes, and architectures of the Anachrone Worlds.
Her playful imagination and love of etymological invention have accompanied their whimsical inventory ever since, offering narrative trails that expand and illuminate this ever‑growing universe.
